    • Determine if you will be open and how to handle staffing.
      • Will you work remotely?
      • Will you work 1/2 staff?
    • Make a policy about requesting time off during the time leading up to and during the eclipse.

    • Credit Card machines may be down or running slow.

 

  • Telephone Landlines

    • Cell towers may be overloaded causing cellular service to be slow or non-functioning.

 

  • Bathroom Policy

    • If your business will be open April 8th and you plan to allow visitor parking, you may consider creating a bathroom policy.

 

  • Trash and Recycling

    • Along with the crowd surge, there will be a surge in trash and recycling. If you do not plan to open your trash receptacles to the public, you may consider locking the lids or gates to the receptacles.

 

  • Water Refill Stations

    • If you’re looking for a way to help during the event, consider a water refilling station.

 

  • Gas up any Vehicles

    • It is suggested that you fill your vehicles the weekend before the eclipse in case of shortages.

 

  • Local Radio Stations

    • To stay up-to-date with the latest eclipse news, tune in to your local radio stations.

 

  • Blocked Parking

    • If parking could become an issue for your staff, consider blocking some or all of your business parking lot.
