In 1955, young Ernest R. “Buddy” Coleman sold his first home for $4,000, and so began his career in development. Two years later, in 1957, Buddy founded ERC Properties, Inc., a development company that builds and manages single family and multi-family residential properties. Buddy Coleman paved the way for what ERC is today; a company devoted not only to building developments; but creating homes and neighborhoods.

ERC’s THRIVE Living Experience
In 1985, Rod Coleman, Buddy’s son, took the reigns as President. Like his father, Rod has spent his career continuing to build ERC’s legacy. He moved through the company; first as Vice President; then President and CEO; and finally as chairman. Then in 2015, Rob Coleman, the third generation, took over as CEO and President. Today Rob leads ERC in commitment to corporate culture, performance, and vision. He founded the new popular brand, THRIVE, a living experience that offers an unparalleled opportunity to be a connected and active member in a thriving community. ERC has other communities much like THRIVE, in Bentonville and coming soon, in North Little Rock, AR and Lake St. Louis, MO; PURE in St. Peters, MO, and The HUB at Providence in Chaffee Crossing – Fort Smith. The HUB will be a mixed-use development with rental, lease, and own opportunities. ERC’s idea for The Hub is to be a community within the community. The projected date for breaking ground is March 5, 2018.

Currently, ERC employs 58 team members across two offices, one in Fort Smith, and the home office in Rogers. With two offices and a broad range of professionals and needs, ERC relies heavily on technology to keep their highly mobile workforce connected. Office 365 is a key piece of their mobile solution and flexible work style. O365 enables their team to work across various devices; creating, editing, and sharing Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and OneNote files. Communication among this team incorporates O365’s hosted email, making email available in their office, on their phones, tablets or via a web portal. ERC leverages both secure remote access to on-premise files storage and a hosted file storage solution. This diverse solution works best for a company that needs to be able to work and access files anytime, anywhere.
